West Bay Tennis Center ADVANCES DESIGN STANDARD

July 9, 2008 (Estero, Florida)—The West Bay Tennis Center, nicknamed The Net, offers a design element that few other tennis clubs around the country have: center court viewing on all 8 courts, design build-out complete mid-September. Cliff Drysdale is creating The West Bay Tennis Center (located at West Bay Beach & Golf Club) to offer an unparalleled playing and viewing experience, he says:
"This design allows for 360 degree viewing of the facility's courts, as well as the beauty of the abundant natural surroundings that the West Bay community is renowned for.
—Cliff Drysdale, tennis legend & founder of Cliff Drysdale Tennis

The Net’s octagon shaped building fits into the quad compound at the heart of the courts. Drysdale’s team designed a balcony that extends one-foot short of the court, creating immediate intimacy with the on-court excitement. UPCOMING: In November 2009, a “Legends Event” is being held at The West Bay Tennis Center, players TBA.

Scott McCullough, the West Bay Tennis Center’s programming director, notes an increase in players coming back to the game after being away from it, especially returning after over fifteen years of absence.  “Tennis is a lifestyle—and to see people re-enter or catch the excitement and buzz of the sport—is extremely rewarding.” Scott McCulloch, Director of Tennis, West Bay Beach & Golf Club.
